Here is a movement being test fitted in to a Brazillian Mahogany Grandmother clock prior to further work being carried out. At the present time i have three grandmother cases for sale in Brazillian mahogany. I will no longer be making any long case clocks in this timber as the cost is such that it would make it very expensive. Other woods are available such as oak, yew, walnut and rosewood. I have had this case valued at £4500 but the price I am selling them at is at a great price of £2550.00 The movement is a German tripple chime unit that chimes on the quarters, and strikes on every hour. you can choose it to play Whittington, st Michael or Westminster (Big ben)  It has the function of being able to silent the chimes completely or to stike the last quarter at 9.45pm and to start again at 7.15 in the morning.
